Office Of The Governor Offers Reward In Murder Case Of Texas Border Patrol Agent

Austin, TX - November 27, 2017 (The Ponder News) -- Governor Greg Abbott has authorized a reward up to $20,000 through the Texas Crime Stoppers program for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent and the serious injury of another. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

Agent Rogelio Martinez died Sunday as a result of injuries sustained while on patrol in the Big Bend area. His partner, who was injured, remains in the hospital in serious condition.

“We owe a great deal of gratitude to the brave men and women of the United States Border Patrol who serve every day to protect our homeland,” said Governor Abbott. “Cecilia and I offer our deepest condolences to the families of the agents killed and seriously injured in this attack. As authorities continue their investigation, it is important that they receive any and all information to help apprehend and deliver swift justice to those responsible.”

To be eligible for the cash rewards, anyone with information on fugitives can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477)
  • Text the letters ‘DPS’ - followed by your tip - to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone
  • Submit a web tip by visiting https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTipsCSI.aspx?L=E&AgencyID=650.

Texas Crime Stoppers is a program within the Office of the Governor under the Criminal Justice Division (and administered by the Texas Department of Public Safety) that encourages, supports and fosters the development of local crime stoppers organizations as a way to prevent crime. This grant is provided under the Crime Stoppers Fallen Hero Reward program.

Americans United for Life Asks MD U.S. Attorney to Charge Pregnant Teacher’s Murderer for Homicide of Unborn Baby

    Source: Americans United for Life

Baltimore, MD - October 7, 2017 (The Ponder News) -- Following the September murder of Maryland teacher Laura Wallen, Americans United for Life sent a letter to Maryland’s U.S. Attorney asking that he consider following the precedent set by the infamous Laci Peterson case and charge Tyler Tessier, Wallen’s assailant, with the murder of the baby she was 4 months pregnant with under the Unborn Victims of Violence Act.

“The horrible murder of Laura Wallen and her unborn baby have shocked the conscience of Washington area residents, and reminded us of the similar circumstances surrounding the murders of Laci Petersen and her unborn child, Conner, fifteen years ago. While we hope that Maryland will be able to grant justice to Laura’ family for her murder, it appears the state is unable to offer justice for the murder of her baby. AUL’s letter calls upon the United States Attorney’s office in Maryland to consider bringing charges for that murder under ‘Laci and Conner’s Law,’ the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which allows federal officials to prosecute a defendant for the murder of an unborn victim, regardless of his or her age in the womb,” said Catherine Glenn Foster, President and CEO of Americans United for Life.

Opinion: Trump’s weak statement failed the people of Charlottesville and the rest of us

    Fresno Bee

Words matter, but so does policy. Graham and Cruz called for investigations into such groups. They should make sure the U.S. Justice Department follows through.

Trump, for his part, needs to take a stand. He goes out of his way to denounce terrorists who claim to be followers of Islam, no matter where they strike. It should not be difficult to call white terrorists what they are, especially because they are responsible for so many more acts of domestic terrorism.

This is all well and good, AS LONG AS while we are investigating the KKK and other groups like it, we don't forget to also investigate the BLM and the ANTIFA group that instigated the violence in the first place. It was, however, not a BLM or ANTIFA person driving the car. When a black man commits an atrocity like this, he is usually not on psychotropic drugs, either. Perhaps we need to investigate that, as well. As a matter of fact, it's just come out recently that all of the suicides of military men and women have been by our finest who are on psychotropic drugs. Is anyone getting this?

Senators Introduce Legislation to Limit Spending on Nuclear War-Fighting Missiles
    Senator Dianne Feinstein - (D - CA)
    March, 8 2017

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) joined Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and 7 other senators in introducing legislation that will limit funding for a new nuclear-armed air-launched missile, also called the Long-Range Standoff Weapon (LRSO). The cruise missile would be more precise and could be launched without warning, putting pressure on other nuclear-armed states to keep their arsenals on high alert and increasing the risk of nuclear war. Cruise missiles also come in both nuclear and non-nuclear varieties, so the use of a non-nuclear missile against another nuclear-armed state could be mistaken for a nuclear strike, leading to unintended nuclear war. The missile and its refurbished warhead will reportedly cost between $20-30 billion over twenty years to build. Specifically, the legislation caps funding for the missile and its warhead at 2017 levels until the Trump administration submits a Nuclear Posture Review to Congress.
